With over 100 event partners throughout the Milwaukee area, it was REALLY hard to narrow it down to my top 5 but I gave it my best shot! We love all of our yoga social venues but these are the five most memorable locations and /or events we hosted in 2021:
5. Yoga at Saint Kate Arts Hotel (front lobby & art gallery): We have been fortunate to host yoga at Saint Kate over the years but 2021 was particularly special because we literally had the entire hotel to ourselves. While the hotel itself was closed to guests, Saint Kate was still hosting limited capacity small events (including our yoga!). It was truly special practicing on the plush carpet in the bright early morning light… and the crafted cocktails after class were the icing on the cake!
4. Yoga at Great Lakes Distillery on Prohibition Day: Great Lakes is already a pretty amazing setting for yoga — we’re actually in the distillery space amongst the stills and barrels but this year we had an extra special experience! Our yoga day just so happened to fall on the anniversary of Prohibition (which is a big to-do for Great Lakes!). We not only got to experience their prohibition party but they were bottling a limited edition rye during our yoga session… adding to the ambiance.
3. Urban Forest Bathing, Yoga & Sound Bath at Grant Park Beach Sponsored by Merrell: I already was in love with Merrell but this solidified the deal! The staff at Merrill was so incredibly generous and easy to work with… and working with them allowed us to offer this to the community for FREE.
2. Mother’s Day Goat Yoga at Best Place Photographed for the NY Times: Imagine going from almost entirely shutting down in 2020 to 2021 getting the phone call of a lifetime, “I’m with the NY Times… we’d like to photograph your goat yoga session.” Best. Experience. Ever.
1. Glowga for Light the Hoan: “You want to do yoga in the parking lot?” … yes please! It’s still surreal that this one actually happened!! Imagine yoga in a parking lot, running an extension cord to power the DJ tables and the bridge lights syncing up to the music… EPIC! and the best part? All proceeds were donated to Light the Hoan Foundation.
